The youth group has chosen to work with Servant Heart Ministries at Camp Kingswood in Minnestra, Minnesota. We will be leaving Sunday, July 22nd and returning Sunday, July 29. We will be doing small home repairs, light construction, yard work, and other service work in in partnership with other local non-profit service agencies. The theme for this week is Following Jesus Call To Serve Others.
In June 2011, nineteen youth and four adults took part in a mission trip to Sylvania, Alabama. We worked with the Upper Sand Mountain Parish from the Tennessee Methodist Conference. We helped organize their massive storehouse, gleaned vegetables, repaired homes, and constructed a handicap ramp.
In June 2010, seventeen youth and five adults took part in a Missouri Conference Mission Trip to Memphis, Tennessee and worked renovating a small urban church. We painted their Fellowship Hall, put up new walls, removed and replaced old carpet in the Sanctuary, and did general repairs and clean-up.
In June 2009, sixteen youth and six adults took part in a Missouri Conference Mission trip in Sikeston, Missouri. We worked in a variety of jobs to benefit Mission Missouri House of Liberty. We removed old tile, put up new sheet rock, put in new plumbing, painted, removed old tile, and hauled out trailer loads of debris from a recent tornado.
